It All Makes Sense

It sounds like you are all doing good! It´s so good to hear from you guys! AND it´s good to see mom on the slopes!! Say what?! You guys are the cutest little family.

A huge blessing that comes from being a part of the Church of Jesus Christ, is that there isn´t anything that doesn´t make sense. Everything connects and there aren´t any questions or answers that are iffy or contradicting.

This week we were teaching Omar and after we invited him to be baptized he was worried because he was already baptized when he was a baby in the Iglesia Catolica. I can´t tell you how many times a day I hear that. We were explaining to him that the reason we are baptized is to be clean from our sins and he´s like, "Babies don´t have any sins!" Thank you! He´s preparing to be baptized 19 de Abril.

The thing is, even though we CAN explain everything with logic, we can´t really have a testimony and KNOW that these things are true until we live the gospel and "after the trial of our faith," we can see that every makes sense.

I can remember thinking that it´s not fair that someone can be baptized when they are super old and be clean from all their sins and wondering why we don´t all wait 'til we´re almost dead to be baptized. But. Obviously, God´s plan is perfect and there is a way we can be clean from our sins every week. Sacrament! We ¨renew our baptismal covenant¨ or have a little baptism, every week when we partake of the sacrament. We remember our promise with God that we will tomar su nombre sobre nosotros and He promises us with His Spirit and the remission of our sins. Sacrament meeting is pretty important!

Ramon is a champ. He´s come to church the past two weeks is reading the Book of Mormon. He has a couple of obstacles before he can get baptized so if you guys want to pray for him, that would be awesome :)

I love you guys! I hope you have an awesome week!!!!

Families

Fam!!!!! I miss you guys.

This week we had a ton of opportunities to teach about the Plan of Salvation. I´m SO GRATEFUL that I know this plan.

We contacted Afredo the other day. His wife died recently and his brother is super sick and he lives with his son. It was so cool to explain to him about how this life isn´t the end. There´s more! I can´t remember ever not knowing this, so I have no idea what it would be like to learn this for the first time. But, I know that when people hear this plan you can literally SEE a difference. They are so much happier.

I know the gospel blesses our families and our lives! There is a member in our branch that was recently baptized. She has 4 kids and they hardly have anything. It´s so cool to see how all the members are helping her and her family.

AND. Family Home Evening. I miss having FHEating with you guys so much! And sometimes I even miss family counsel. :)
The members here are so awesome and so dedicated in having Noche de Hogar. We had a Noche de Hogar with two families together. The two moms are separated from their esposos and they have all their
kids. It was so special to me to see their oldest son (13) conduct FHE and their mom teach about obedience. SO dedicated.

I love you guys!!

I´m so grateful for you guys. I´m so blessed.

Casi America

I had to leave Reconquista este semana! I was so sad! I wanted to be there for Jonatan´s baptism and I love all the members there. But. Esta bien. It´s all good because right now I´m in Corrientes!! It´s almost America. Almost.

There is a super pretty beach in our area... and an outdoor mall and it´s super city. I basically feel like I´m in San Fran. Kinda. Like an old fashioned California. Haha! LOVE IT. La capilla is right on the pier or costanera. And. You´re not going to believe it. HAY WALMART HERE. #cloudnine

My companion is de Brazil! So maybe I will learn a little Portuguese and be able to talk to Sarie a little! My companion is seriously the greatest person ever. She is such a good missionary and I have learned SO MUCH from her in just these first couple days. I´m so grateful.

ALSO. This week is crazy. The presidente de nuestra rama is Presidente Godoy. Un converso de Sister Strange! Kinda cool. She wrote me about their family in una carta a while ago to look out for them and this week I got to meet them! Their family is so cute!

Bueno. This week I studied a little about Zions Camp and the suffering of the Saints in the times of Joseph Smith. I couldn´t help but think about how Zions Camp was a little like a mission! haha   In the book, Our Heritage, it talks about how these people suffered a ton and when they finally got to Missouri, the governor didn´t keep his promise to them, and it basically looked like all their suffering was in vain. But God knows what he´s doing.

In this time, God needed people whom he could trust and were strong in testimony to help the church move forward. "The journey had revealed who was on the Lord´s side... this refining process revealed the grumblers, who did not have the spirit of obedience and often faulted Joseph for their troubles... was an opportuinity to prove obedience in difficult circumstances..."

I´m so grateful for this opportunity to prove to the Lord and myself that I have a testimony of the Evangelio de Jesucristo. And to prove my obedience. It´s totally not easy, but like Zions camp it´s an opportunity to refine myself and become a better person. And through my mission, I´m learning and having experiences that I know I couldn´t have any other way.

I´m so grateful for the opportunity I have to be a representante de Jesucristo. Que puedo servir las personas aquí en Argentina.

Besos!!!

Forever Familias

Jonatan. Investigador de oro! Enserio! He is so preparado. He has come to church the last two Domingos, asistió 2 bautismos y es tan animado a servir una misión y recibir el sacerdocio. It was a MILAGRO how we found him. It would take too long to write. But. It´s cool to see how literally every part de our day and lives son guiados por el Espiritu Santo. Jonatan is tan importante to me because I really wanted to teach and baptize someone that would serve a misión too! I´m so excited about him! We have transfers this week so I´m not sure if I´ll be here for his bautismo o no :/

Kyanna´s family has been listening to las lecciones!! Love that girl. And her family. Her parents weren´t really interested before, but this week they invited us to almorzar con su family and her dad was like, “Alright, we want to hear about what Kyanna has been learning and why your iglesia is different.” ETERNAL FAM in the making!

Maria tambien is going to get baptized on the 22! She LOVES church. She told us this week that she wished church was a little longer. “We just get started and have to leave!” Ha! Love her. Her son was a miembro this whole time but never told us because tenia vergüenza! He just moved back from Santa Fe so nobody knew he lived here and wasn´t on any records.

I´m so grateful for the temple!!!!!!!!!!! I´m so grateful that my family is forever. I love you all sooooooo much.

Love you!

Modern Technology

I´m doing so good. Life is great.

I´m so grateful for the gospel in my life. I´m so grateful for America.

I´m so grateful for WASHING MACHINES. I will never complain about doing laundry again. This week our laundry situation was a little out of hand. We were getting a little overwhelmed and guess what we found out? THE ELDERS HAVE A WASHING MACHINE. So at the end of the night when they asked us the usual question, "Is there anything we can do for you?," we asked to borrow their washing machine. They said we could use it for 3 days only. So we called a member that has a truck, brought it to our apartment, did laundry for 3 days, day and night, and trucked it back to the elders. I know. Something is wrong about this story. But my clothes are the cleanest they have been since I got to Argentina.

I´m really sorry that I´m so horrible at writing people back. Working on that.
I love you all. I'm so grateful for your love and support and prayers!!!

Have an awesome week!
